2012 Spartans Football Season

The football season has not yet started, but it will soon be upon us.   Team practices will officially start in July at Wishart Field.  That being said there is still a lot happening behind the scenes to ensure the Players have another great year.   Soon it will be registration time and we ask that you go out there and tell all of your friends what a great sport football is and what it feels like to be Provincial Champs.  Show off your rings and bring your friends to practice in July.   We also encourage all returning Bantams and Midgets to start off season training with Coach Shortt every Monday and Wednesday, from 2 May 2012 to 27 June 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

What's Up Magazine

We would like to thank Rob McGowan and Elise Pastro for contributing wonderful articles about Spartans Football to the "What's Up Westshore" magazine over the last 5 issues.  Numerous players have been recognized in these stories and we recommend that all players and parents pick up the Magazine to read about yourself or your teammates.

A big CONGRATULATIONS to the Spartan Bantam team for winning the Provincial Championship on December 4th.

It was an awesome grid iron game.  The boys played a very hard game to the end .....never gave up and it paid off for them.  They played like true Spartans and finished the game with a score of 10 - 9 with one second left on the clock
after Hugo Louis kicked in the field goal that won the game!

Brain Gailbraith-McTavish was awarded  the game MVP
